Who We Are

Beraka Better Life Initiative was Founded in 2015 and formally structured in 2019, Beraka Better Life Initiative (BBLI) is a dedicated organization working tirelessly in Sokoto State and Abuja, Nigeria, to promote the rights, wellbeing, and improved quality of life for vulnerable and underprivileged children, youth, and women. Our core mission is to provide accessible healthcare, quality education, and innovative empowerment solutions while delivering emergency relief to those affected by natural or human-induced crises.

Originally, our efforts focused on addressing critical issues such as children’s health, nutrition, and household sanitation vital in the fight against life-threatening childhood diseases. We made significant strides by supplying emergency relief through the distribution of essential items like corn-soy milk and iodized salt, as well as by providing clean drinking water and safe sanitation facilities in rural communities.

As the needs of our beneficiaries evolved, so too did our programs. Today, BBLI’s initiatives encompass early childhood development, adolescent health and participation, quality education, and the protection of child rights. Additionally, our work has expanded to include key sectors such as Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) and Agriculture, ensuring a holistic approach to community development and sustainable impact.

A cornerstone of our recent efforts has been our robust advocacy campaigns. Notably, our Tsangaya Reformation advocacy initiative supports street children in Arabic schools by striving to reform traditional educational practices and improve access to quality education. We have also championed polio vaccine policy reform to ensure that children receive timely immunizations, thus safeguarding public health. Furthermore, our ongoing advocacy for child rights reinforces our commitment to protecting the most vulnerable and advancing every form of aid necessary to create sustainable opportunities for children, youth, and women.

Today, we operate as a strategic partner with governments, the private sector, civil society organizations, academia, the media, and local communities across Sokoto State and beyond. These collaborations allow us to translate our commitment into practical, scalable action. Our approach rooted in decades of impactful work and continuously updated to meet international standards underscores our obligation and passion to reach excluded and vulnerable populations. At BBLI, our comprehensive approach to development is not only about service delivery; it is also about fostering policy reforms and advocacy that create an enabling environment for sustainable change. Through these multifaceted efforts, we are committed to building a better, more equitable future for all those we serve.
